GeckoPro ("we", "our", "us") provides portfolio monitoring and market signal alerts for retail investors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

By using GeckoPro, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Name or username
  • Email address
  • Password (securely hashed)
  • Account preferences
  • Notification settings

Portfolio and Trading Data

If you import portfolio data or use monitoring features, we may collect:

  • Holdings and watchlists
  • Trade history
  • Average cost data
  • Profit/loss calculations
  • Portfolio performance data
  • Alert configurations

This data may be imported through CSV uploads or entered manually.

Device and Usage Information

We may automatically collect:

  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • IP address
  • Operating system
  • App interaction data
  • Notification open/click events
  • Session and login activity

This helps us improve reliability, security, and user experience.

Push Notification Data

If you enable notifications, we store push subscription details required to deliver alerts to your device.

We may also track:

  • Whether a notification was delivered
  • Whether it was opened
  • Whether a related signal page was viewed

This data is used to improve signal quality and delivery reliability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Deliver portfolio-aware alerts
  • Monitor stocks in your holdings or watchlists
  • Generate market signals
  • Send push notifications and emails
  • Improve product performance and reliability
  • Prevent abuse and fraudulent activity

We do not sell your personal data.

GeckoPro provides general market information and alerting tools only.

GeckoPro:

  • is not a broker
  • does not execute trades
  • does not provide personalised financial advice
  • does not recommend buying or selling securities
Signals and alerts are informational only and may be inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete. All investing decisions remain your responsibility.

4. Data Storage and Security

GeckoPro uses cloud infrastructure hosted in Australia.

Current infrastructure includes:

  • AWS Lightsail (Sydney region)
  • Cloudflare security and SSL services

We take reasonable steps to protect user data, including:

  • Encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Secure password hashing
  • Access controls
  • Server monitoring
  • Session security protections

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and portfolio data for as long as your account remains active. When an account is closed or deleted, we will remove personal data within 30 days, subject to the exceptions below.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting support.

Some technical logs and backup records are retained for a limited period for the following purposes:

  • Security and fraud prevention — up to 90 days
  • Server and application logs — up to 90 days
  • Encrypted backup snapshots — up to 12 months
  • Legal compliance or regulatory requirements — as required by law

After these periods, data is deleted or permanently de-identified.

6. Third-Party Services

GeckoPro may use third-party services including:

  • Cloudflare (security, CDN, and DDoS protection)
  • AWS (cloud hosting, Sydney region)
  • Google Analytics (website usage analytics — collects IP address, browser type, pages visited, and session data)
  • Google Ads / Google Tag Manager (advertising conversion measurement — collects IP address, page visit data, and browser identifiers to measure ad effectiveness)
  • Email delivery providers
  • Push notification services
  • Application monitoring tools
  • Payment providers such as Stripe (when enabled)

These providers may process limited data required to operate the platform. Google Analytics and Google Ads data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

We do not control the privacy practices of third-party services.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

GeckoPro may use cookies and browser storage to:

  • Maintain login sessions
  • Remember preferences
  • Support PWA functionality
  • Improve usability and performance

Third-Party Cookies

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads, which set their own cookies on your device. These cookies may collect your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and identifiers used to measure site usage and advertising performance. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop functioning correctly.

8. Your Rights

If you are located in Australia or New Zealand, you have the following rights:

  • Access your personal data held by GeckoPro
  • Correct inaccurate or out-of-date data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent for notifications or marketing at any time
  • Request a copy of your stored information

Australian Users

GeckoPro handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

New Zealand Users

GeckoPro handles personal information about New Zealand individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). If you believe your privacy rights have been breached, you may contact the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

9. Children's Privacy

GeckoPro is not intended for individuals under 18 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Users

GeckoPro's primary infrastructure is hosted in Australia (AWS Sydney). However, some infrastructure providers — including Cloudflare — operate globally and may route or process data through servers in other countries as part of normal CDN and security operations.

Your information may therefore be processed and stored in Australia or other countries where our infrastructure providers operate.

By using GeckoPro, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If significant changes are made, we may notify users through:

  • Email
  • Push notification
  • Website notice

For material changes that significantly affect your rights or how we use your data, we will provide reasonable advance notice (typically at least 14 days) before the change takes effect. You will have the opportunity to review the updated policy before it applies to you. Continued use of GeckoPro after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
